REQUEST FOR PARTICIPATION:  Dachshund cone-rod dystrophy (CRD-cord1) study.
synopsis
A study is being conducted by Dr. Simon Peterson-Jones at Michigan State University on cone-rod dystrophy (CRD-cord1) in dachshunds and in other breeds.  There are other mutations called PRA that will cause a dog's retina to deteriorate, leaving the dog blind, and at least one of these mutations, if not two or more, are also thought to be present in the dachshund breed, and further study will help determine the genetic location(s) of this/these mutation(s) so a test for it/them can be made publicly available.
how to participate
Please download the informational PDF as well as the instructional PDF.  Otherwise, for further information or explanation, please contact Dr. Peterson-Jones.
